Cheshire View location
This must be one of the trickiest chess venues to find.

Christleton village is located south east of Chester in the area bounded by the A41, A51 and the A55 Chester by-pass. The Cheshire View is 1Km. directly east of the village centre.

Please note that the red circle on maps so obtained shows the geographic centre of the post code area and not the location of the Cheshire View, (typical of the internet to give you not quite what you want sometimes!). The Cheshire View is 1000 metres to the east of the red circle, still in Plough Lane but across a crossroads and 300 metres east of the Plough Inn. It stands alone in large grounds on the left. There is excellent free parking.

A51 heading north
Access down two country lanes off the A51 is possible but the lanes are a bit narrow in places and have a few sharp bends so please take extra care if using these routes. The first one, Cotton Lane, is signposted Cotton Edmunds. The second one is Stamford Lane and if you are heading north they are both left turns.

If you do not find the two small lanes on the left, look for the sign to Littleton just before the large roundabout. Take this left turn through Littleton, and follow it past the "Ring 'o Bells" inn on the right in Christleton, and take the next left which is Plough Lane. Keep going and going (it seems for ever), across the cross-roads and, after passing the Plough Inn find the Cheshire View on the left in its own large grounds.

A41 heading south
A useful landmark when approaching from the north down the A41 is a small sign at a left fork saying "College of Law", just after the A55 flyover. Take that left fork and, taking extreme care over the hump-baked bridge over the canal, turn second right to the village centre. Proceed shortly past the "Ring 'o Bells" inn on the right , and then proceed as described in the paragraph above this one.

A55 heading west
Leave the A55 at the A51  taking first exit, and in 70 metres take first right to Littleton / Christleton and proceed as above from the Ring 'o Bells inn in Christleton
