  • The Chester Chess Congress was founded in 2006 by David Dickson. A keen enthusiast of promoting chess, he founded Caergwrle Chess Club and the Wirral League many years ago.

  • The club welcomes warmly, new members of all playing strengths.

    • The first congress had good external sponsorship and was designed to give surpluses to charitable organisations. In this case two hospices received in excess of £1100 each.

    • The venue at the extensive Cheshire View complex with its pleasant refrectory, restauraunt, bars and large crown green bowling centre is set in rural Cheshire and is ideal for the pursuit of chess titles.
    •
  • Many competitors have praised the high standard of catering at reasonable prices, at our congress, for which we are indebted to the attentive and professional staff at the Cheshire View. They make sure that there is a continuous supply of hot drinks and hot and cold food throughout the congress.
